We offer an insight into two outstanding construction projects in Latvia, completed this year, where RIGA birch plywood products are widely used.

The Cultural Center “The Pearl of the Ulbroka”, located in Latvia’s capital city Riga, opened its doors in July this year. It will host a diverse cultural life – professional music and amateur art concerts, conferences, exhibitions, creative workshops, theater performances and other events. We are proud that the walls of the small hall of the Cultural Center and the registry office are decorated with Riga Décor acoustic panels – all cut to size in an irregular shape, each of them in its own size and angle.

In the large hall, birch plywood (Riga Ply) was used in the constructions of the lacquered panels manufactured by company “Rīgas krēslu fabrika”, but the black Riga Heksa Plus was used on the surface of the stage podium. It is interesting that this plywood was exported to a Polish stage manufacturer and returned to Latvia in the form of a finished product.

The second construction project is a sports complex built this year at the National Armed Forces base in Kadaga city. Acoustic panels manufactured by Latvijas Finieris also cover the walls there.

According to Uģis Ozols, Executive Director of AS “Riga Wood Baltic”, such premium product projects can last up to two years – from negotiations with architects, first samples and tender, to concluding a contract, production and delivery at a certain date and hour directly to the construction site
